Key Technical Features

The 5040 introduces several technologies "trickled down" from Q Acoustics' flagship Concept series:

• C³ Continuous Curved Cone™: This is the standout feature. The mid/bass drivers use a single, smooth curve profile rather than a traditional cone shape. This design combines the deep bass performance of a straight cone with the midrange control of a flared cone.
• Decoupled Tweeter: The 1-inch tweeter is hermetically sealed and "floats" (mechanically isolated) from the front baffle. This prevents the vibrations from the larger bass drivers from interfering with the delicate high frequencies.
• P2P™ (Point to Point) Bracing: Internal bracing is placed precisely where the cabinet needs support to minimize cabinet vibration and improve stereo imaging.
• HPE™ (Helmholtz Pressure Equalizer): These are internal tubes designed to reduce pressure build-up and standing waves inside the tall cabinet, which typically lead to "boomy" or colored sound.
