The Eversolo DMP-A8 Gen 2 is a second-generation high-end network streamer, digital-to-analog converter (DAC), and preamplifier. It builds on the success of the original A8 by widening the physical footprint for improved thermal and circuit management, expanding processing power, and adding audiophile-centric features.

Key Upgrades & Features

• Larger Screen & Form Factor: Features a wider aluminum chassis (388 × 265 × 88 mm) and an expanded 8.6-inch LCD touchscreen running an updated UI with customizable VU meters and dynamic spectrum analyzers.

• Flagship DAC Architecture: Utilizes AKM's split architecture—pairing the AK4191EQ digital modulator with the AK4499EX DAC chip—to physically isolate digital noise from analog conversion. Supports up to PCM 768kHz/32-bit and native DSD512.

• R-2R Balanced Preamplifier: Features a fully balanced analog preamp stage equipped with an R-2R switched-resistor volume control, ensuring clean signal integrity and precise channel matching at low volumes.

• Optical Network Port (SFP): Includes an SFP fiber optical network port alongside Gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6, enabling optical galvanic isolation to prevent electrical noise from network switches reaching the audio stage.

• Subwoofer Output & DSP: Adds a dedicated subwoofer output with a configurable digital crossover filter (40–500 Hz), along with an updated DSP engine supporting 20-band parametric EQ and room correction filters.

• Faster Library Indexing: Powered by a 64-bit octa-core processor, 8 GB DDR5 RAM, and 64 GB storage, capable of indexing local music libraries of up to 200,000 tracks in roughly two hours.

• Expandable NVMe Storage: Bottom-mounted M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 slot supporting up to an 8 TB SSD for storing local lossless music collections.
