The Atoll PH100 phono preamplifier is an external module within a steel sheet case with a 4 mm thick front panel (black or brushed metal).

Its internal power supply consists of two high-end low-noise transformers (one per channel) with four voltage regulators. A metal case further shields it away from any interference. It is entirely built of discrete components, without any coupling capacitor.

Any configuration (MM/MC, input impedance) is accessible from the back panel.
