Core Audio Architecture

  • Dual-Mono DAC Configuration: Unlike lower-tier single-chip designs, the ST300 Signature utilizes two Burr-Brown PCM1792A converters (one per channel), achieving a 132 dB signal-to-noise ratio and wide dynamic range.

  • Pure Class A Output Stage: Features four discrete component output stages operating in Class A with zero global negative feedback, paired with ClarityCap ESA audio-grade coupling capacitors.

  • Substantial Power Supply: Employs three dedicated transformers—one 30 VA linear supply plus two low-noise 10 VA toroidal transformers exclusively for the analog stages—with a massive reservoir capacitance totaling 69,000 µF.

  • True Preamp Functionality: Includes switched-resistor analog volume management that can be set as variable (to drive a power amp directly, such as Atoll's AM300) or bypassed completely to operate purely as a line-level source.
