Cambridge CXC V2 (DEMO)
- Estimated delivery: Oct 27 - Oct 31
The Cambridge Audio CXC V2 is a high-performance CD transport designed solely for extracting digital audio data from compact discs with extreme precision.
Unlike a traditional CD player, the CXC V2 does not have a built-in Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) or standard RCA analog outputs. Instead, it sends pure digital bitstreams directly to an outboard DAC or an integrated amplifier with digital inputs.
Core Features & Engineering
-
Dedicated S3 Servo System: Uses Cambridge Audio’s proprietary single-speed "S3" Servo drive architecture—originally developed for their flagship Azur 851C—designed strictly for reading audio CDs with maximum stability, low jitter, and state-of-the-art error correction.
- Pure Digital Transport: By omitting DAC circuitry, internal electromagnetic interference is minimized, preventing signal degradation before it hits your external converter.
- Lunar Grey Aesthetics: Updated to match Cambridge Audio's V2 CX series styling in a brushed metal "Lunar Grey" finish with a floating bezel design.
- Gapless Playback: Seamlessly transitions between tracks without introducing artificial silent pauses—ideal for live albums and classical movements.
