How They Work
AudioQuest’s philosophy is that cables shouldn't just be "lifted"—they should be isolated from the floor with as little material as possible.
The "Fog" (RF Noise): Floors (carpet, wood, or concrete) can act as a dielectric that stores and releases Radio Frequency (RF) energy. When a cable sits directly on the floor, this RF noise can "couple" into the cable, effectively raising the noise floor of your system.
Minimalist Contact: Unlike bulky wooden blocks or heavy ceramic isolators, Fog Lifters use a lightweight plastic frame and taut nylon strings (similar to fishing line) to cradle the cable. This ensures the absolute minimum of solid material touches the cable.
The "Inverse Square Law": By lifting the cable just a few inches (6.25 inches high), the strength of the RF energy from the floor drops off exponentially, significantly reducing interference.
