Integrated Amplifier

The Rega Brio MK7 is the seventh generation of Rega’s classic half-width integrated amplifier, introduced in 2025. It marks the first time digital inputs and an integrated digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) have been incorporated directly into the entry-level Brio line, aligning it with the design language and feature set of its larger siblings, the Elex Mk4 and Elicit Mk5.

The Rega Brio MK7 is a ground-up redesign of Rega’s long-standing, half-width stereo integrated amplifier. While keeping the compact, minimalist form factor and punchy, musically engaging character that built the Brio's reputation, the MK7 introduces digital connectivity, an overhauled circuit topology, and updated components.

Key Upgrades & Highlights

  • Built-in DAC: For the first time, Rega added an internal digital-to-analogue converter to the Brio. Powered by a Wolfson WM8742 DAC chip (sharing lineage with the larger Elex Mk4 and Elicit Mk5), it accepts PCM audio up to 24-bit/192kHz via S/PDIF optical and coaxial inputs.

  • Re-Engineered Circuit Architecture: Rega completely re-laid the PCB layout, introducing a second raw power supply to isolate the output stage from the driver and low-level preamplifier/phono stages. High-grade MUSES operational amplifiers are employed across the line, DAC, and phono sections to lower distortion and reduce noise.

  • Integrated MM Phono Stage: A dedicated moving-magnet phono stage designed specifically around Rega’s vinyl-first heritage. It pairs naturally with cartridges like the Rega Nd3/Nd5/Nd7 or popular third-party MM cartridges.

  • Updated Headphone Stage: Features a front-panel 3.5 mm headphone socket with dedicated circuitry designed to switch off the speaker outputs automatically upon connection without degrading the main audio path.

  • Remote & Standby Functions: Ships with a mini system remote that can toggle power on/off. It includes an auto-standby power mode that engages after roughly an hour without signal (drawing 0.4 W).
