It replaces the long-running Elex-R, bringing updated aesthetics, digital connectivity, and an integrated headphone stage while retaining Rega's signature rhythmic drive and musical timing.

Key Features & Design Highlights

  • Updated Chassis Design: The MK4 shares the industrial styling of the latest Rega components (like the Elicit MK5 and Saturn MK3), featuring a custom aluminum case where the entire enclosure doubles as an efficient heat sink.

  • Addition of an Onboard DAC: One of the most significant upgrades over the analog-only Elex-R is the integrated digital section. Based on the Rega DAC-R topology, the digital section is galvanically and optically isolated from the analog circuits to prevent electrical noise from bleeding into the signal path.

  • Dedicated MM Phono Stage: Rega’s vinyl heritage is front and center. The built-in moving magnet phono circuit uses a two-stage RIAA equalization design with high-grade polyester and polypropylene capacitors, eliminating the need for a separate budget phono preamp.

  • Integrated Headphone Output: A front-facing 6.35 mm headphone jack uses output-mute relay switching so the speaker signal path remains completely unobstructed when headphones are not plugged in.
